Neonatology

A subspecialty of pediatrics that concentrates on the care of newborn infants, particularly those who are premature or critically ill.
Primarily hospital-based, often working within Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs).
Handles conditions such as:

•     Prematurity
•     Low birth weight
•     Birth defects
•     Respiratory distress
•     Infections
